Installation

Quorum Terminal is a macOS desktop app. You install it from a .dmg disk image — it takes about a minute. This page covers downloading, installing, verifying the build, updates, the other platforms, and what to expect on first launch.

Download

Get the latest build from the download page on the Quorum Terminal website:

• Disk image — download the .dmg, open it, and drag the app into Applications.
• Homebrew — a quorum cask is coming soon; until it is published, use the .dmg.

Install on macOS

1. Open the downloaded .dmg. A Finder window shows the Quorum Terminal app.
2. Drag the app into your Applications folder.
3. Eject the disk image, then launch Quorum Terminal from Applications.

The download page publishes the SHA-256 checksum of each .dmg. If you want to verify the build before opening it, compare the checksum:

shasum -a 256 ~/Downloads/QuorumTerminal.dmg

Requirements

Quorum Terminal is the workspace around your AI coding agents — it does not bundle the agents themselves. Install each agent's CLI separately; once a CLI is on your system, Quorum Terminal can launch and manage it.

Updates & channels

Quorum Terminal updates itself: it checks for new releases and installs them in the background, so you stay current without re-downloading the .dmg. There are two channels — Stable for regular releases, and an opt-in Canary channel that ships pre-release builds more often if you want the newest features early.

Windows & Linux

Quorum Terminal is macOS-only today. Windows and Linux builds are planned for Q4 2026 — join the waitlist on the download page to be notified when they land.

First launch

On first launch Quorum Terminal is conservative about system access: it does not bombard you with macOS permission prompts up front. Instead, you opt in to integrations only when a feature needs them. Grant access at that point and the app remembers your choice next time.
